Bail Granted for Man Accused of Attempted Murder in Shooting Incident
Jamie Kelly, 55, made a virtual appearance in a Chatham court with his out-of-town surety, a family member.
Earlier this month, the Crown rejected a bail plan for his release from custody. Kelly also faced a reverse onus, meaning it was up to him to show cause why he should be released.
Kelly’s lawyer, Frank Retar, said closer examination of the facts showed his client’s release was warranted, adding Kelly would be residing outside of the jurisdiction.
